Well, here I go..........

In today's world everyone is speaking out. And I, for one, think that's a good thing. One of the biggest sources of conflict in this world is the inability or lack of will to communicate. This is my small attempt to communicate my thoughts on various subjects that will include, but not be limited to, politics, causes that I care about, people that I want to recognize, sports, and anything else that may strike my whimsical fancy.

Communication requires two-way interaction. And so I hope that at least some of you will share your thoughts and experiences, even if they are different from mine. In fact, those are the people that I hope to hear from the most. Not because I like to argue. But because it's often an opportunity for me to learn. Respect will be the key; and that must go both ways.

My interests and active participation in Georgia's Democratic politics will provide a lot of the subjects that I'll write about. As the title suggests, this blog will have mostly a liberal slant to it. Though I'm not fond of labels.........more on that and the word "liberal" in future postings.

Even though I am a man, this blog will sometimes contain topics that deal with certain women of distinction and/or women's issues. This is out of respect for our mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, and friends that make the world a better place for us to live. They don't often get enough credit. And I want them on equal footing on my blog.

We all live in the middle of the hustle and bustle of life in the 21st century. Sometimes things get blurred or even manic. Perhaps this blog will be a place for me to seek a lucid interval..........
